Warriors Take On the College of New Rochelle

The women's tennis team took on the College of New Rochelle on Saturday, October 18 at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Center.  The Warriors earned two points, winning one singles and one doubles match. Maia Rivers (Dix Hills) won her first number one singles match of the season, defeating her opponent 10-1. Rivers partnered with Angela Gomez (Westbury, NY) to win their number one doubles match. Gomez had been playing well in her last few matches, which prompted Coach Jordan Wright to move her into the number one doubles match. They defeated their doubles opponents by a final score of 8-3.

The Warriors fell to the College of New Rochelle 2-7. The next match for the Warriors will be against Pratt Institute Sunday, October 19, at Pratt Institute. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
