Lady Warriors Edge Out New School Late In Homecoming Thriller

CORONA, N.Y. - Friday, November 18, the Lady Warriors battled the New School Narwhals in front of packed crowd. Fans came out to support the Lady Warriors for Homecoming. The Narwhals shocked the Lady Warriors early in the game. They outscored the Lady Warriors in the first and second quarters.

The Lady Warriors trailed the Narwhals 19-25 at haftime. They would regroup during the break and come out firing on all cylinders. The Lady Warriors outscored the Narwhals 17-6 in the third quarter to take the lead for the first time in the game. 

It was an exciting finish down the stretch of the fourth quarter. Both teams traded baskets and took turns holding the lead. Tehilyah Murray (Rochester, NY) hit 2-4 free throws in the final 30 seconds of the game to secure a 50-48 victory. It was a huge win for the Lady Warriors in front of their fans to keep them perfect (3-0) to start the season. 

Murray finished the game with a double-double , 21 points and 10 rebounds. Eliyah Howard (Texarkana, TX) also recorded a double-double in nailbitter. Howard poured in 20 points and grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds. Kate Savannah Ospina (West Babylon, NY) added seven huge points, including a buzzer beater jumpshot from the right wing at the end of the third quarter. 

The Warriors will be away from the court until December 2. They will travel to Hyde Park, Long Island for a rematch against the Webb Institute Webbies.
