Howard Records Second Double-Double Against the Lions

The Vaughn College women's basketball team dropped their second confernce game to the Kings College Lions on Thursday, February 7. The Warriors entered the game banged up and injured. However the Warriors competed extremely hard despite playing with several adversisties. The Warriors did a decent job taking care of the ball and limiting their turnovers. Once again the Warriors were hurt by their inexperience and lack of depth. They played exceptionally well on defense but had spurts in the game where fatigue limited their ability to come up with key stops during their comeback run attempts.

Despite a tough loss the Warriors had a lot of bright spots in the game. Marceisha Howard (Fort Worth, TX) had her second 20 point game and second double-double of the season. She tallied a game-high 20 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Howard has scored in double-digits in each game she has played in this season. Alexa Cruz (Pompton Lakes, NJ) was extremely limited in the game due to some linguring injuries. However Cruz chipped in 7 points paired with two steals and one assist. Xylene Decoteau (Queens, NY) added six points, five rebounds and one steal. Zuleika Briceno (Bronx, NY) ended with three points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal.

The Warriors will need to have short-term memory of the difficult loss as they get ready to host Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) on Saturday, February 9.
