The Vaughn College women's basketball team hosted NCAA division III non-conference opponent Pine Manor College on Tuesday, January 17. The Lady Warriors put together a solid effort for three quarters. Youth an inexperience would plague Vaughn College down the stretch as the Lady Warriors dropped their fifth game in a row.

The Lady Warriors shot a higher percentage from the three point line and the free throw line than the Pine Manor Gators. They limited their opponent to 11 second chance points and forced 25 turnovers. However the Gators controlled the glass in the second half allowing them to ward off the each of the Lady Warriors' comeback attempts.

Kayla Bryant (Bronx, NY) finished with 15 points and 2 assists. Bryant was 7-11 from the charity stripe. Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) connected on three triples in the game. The junior captain scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Nicole White (St. Pauls, NC) added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and four thefts. 

The Lady Warriors will travel to the College of New Rochelle on Thursday, January 19, in their first Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) contest. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m.
