Phoenix Battle Mercer College in Season Opener

Vaughn College's men's tennis team launched their season with a competitive match against NJCAA member Mercer College on Saturday, April 6. The Phoenix squad, led by Tommaso Rossi and Carlos Castillo in the 1 doubles, and Justin Bustamante paired with Noah Galluzzo in the 2 doubles, showed strong determination from the onset.

Noah Galluzzo delivered a standout performance in the singles matches, securing a convincing (6-0, 6-2) victory over his opponent, showcasing his prowess on the court.

Despite their efforts, the Phoenix men's tennis team ultimately fell short to Mercer College with a final score of 5-1. The team displayed resilience throughout the match, highlighting their potential for the season ahead.

Looking forward, Vaughn College's men's tennis team will return home to face off against their familiar rival, Webb Institute, on Wednesday, April 24. This upcoming match promises another opportunity for the Phoenix to showcase their skills and bounce back from their season opener.
