Warriors Shutout Cooper Union

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - The Vaughn College Warriors visited Cooper Union on Sunday, October 2. The game was played at Randall's Island on field 84 despite inclement weather. There were cool high winds and light rainfall throughout the non-conference match. The Warriors were focused on weathering the elements and getting back in the win column.

Macoumba Ndiaye (Harlem, NY) scored his seventh goal of the season to put the Warriors ahead of Cooper Union 1-0. Cowanjah Baltimore (Queens, NY) increased the Warriors' lead 2-0 after a beautiful header to close out the first half.

The Warriors controlled the pace and tempo of the game and limited Cooper Union's shots on goal. Freshman forward Ahmed Mohamed (Brooklyn, NY) put the game out of reach with a breakaway goal late in the second half.

The win improves the Warriors record to 2-3 on the season. They will host Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent Five Towns College on Wednesday, October 5.
