Edwards & Roselle Combine for 40 Points as Vaughn Dominates The New School
Queens, NY – The Vaughn College Phoenix continued their strong start to the season, defeating The New School 102-49 on November 16 in a dominant home performance at the Elmcor Recreation Center. The Phoenix showcased their offensive firepower and stifling defense, cruising to a 53-point win in front of their home crowd.
How It Happened:
The Phoenix started off slow, trailing midway through the first half. Shortly after, they took control of the game, taking a 39-22 lead into halftime. Vaughn's offense was clicking early, while their defense shut down The New School's offense, limiting them to just 22 points in the first half.
In the second half, Vaughn continued to pour it on. They outscored The New School 63-27 second , with contributions from all across the roster. The Phoenix's balanced attack and relentless defense sealed the 102-49 victory.
Key Performance:
Nathaniel Edwards delivered a standout performance, leading the Phoenix with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and added 1 assist.
Seth Roselle also had a strong showing, contributing 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting and 3 assists. Roselle's control over the offense in the second half was instrumental in Vaughn's success.
Bartosz Sawon added a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. His dominant presence in the paint allowed the Phoenix to control the boards and outmatch The New School physically throughout the game.
