Warriors Battle SUNY ESF at the Prestigious JMA Wireless Dome

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Vaughn College Warriors men's basketball team battled the SUNY ESF Oaks at the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday, February 7. It was a monumental moment for the Warriors. The JMA Wirless Dome is a historic arena where the NCAA division I  Syracuse Orange men's and women's basketball teams play. The Warriors were excited for the opportunity to play at the JMA Wireless Dome. It was an experience that will last a lifetime.

Ean Chambers (Ewing Township, NJ) and Cedric Green (Brooklyn, NY) led the way for the Warriors. Chambers finished with a team-high 17 points, three assists and one steal. Green poured in 14 points, grabbed three rebounds and was credited with two steals.

The Warriors struggled throughout the contest. The Oaks were more experienced and polished and they played as a cohesive unit. Unfortunately for the Warriors, having to integrate new personnel on the team and find chemistry with a new group of players has been a huge challenge in the second half of the season. Despite the scoreboard the Warriors competed hard. They would go on to fall to the Oaks putting their playoff berth out- of-reach.

Joshua Waithe (Brooklyn, NY) has been a bright spot for the Warriors in the second half of the season. Waithe chipped in eight points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. Salman Benzaid (Bronx, NY) added four points and four rebounds.

The Warriors will host Five Towns College in their next outing. The game will be played at Elmcor Recreation Center in Corona, Queens.
