The Vaughn College men's baseball team played their final game of the regular season against Yeshiva University on Sunday, April 30. The Warriors competed extremely hard in the double-header contest but would come up short in both games against the Maccabees. 

The Warriors jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first game of the double-header. Fielding errors committed by the Warriors would allow the Maccabees to come back into the game and take the lead. Vaughn finished the first game with eight hits, eight runs scored and 10 stolen bases. Defensive struggles plagued the Warriors in game one and they would eventually lose by a final score of 24-8.

Patrick Silva Da Cruz (Belleville, NJ) was a huge bright spot for the young Warriors team in the first game of the double-header. Sila Da Cruz finished the game with two hits out of three plate appearances. He drove in two runs and scored one run as well. After a rough start on the mound for the Warriors by Pedro Cuevas (Bronx, NY), Silva Da Cruz pitched the remainder of the first game. In three innings, Silva Da Cruz had five strike-outs.

The Warriors' offense got off to another fast start in the second game of the double-header. They scored two runs in the first inning. Yeshiva responded scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning to give themselves a 6-2 advantage over Vaughn College. Unfortunately for the Warriors they would be unable to recover from the deficit and would drop their final game of the season 13-2.

In his last game as a Warrior, senior Michael Dunn (Centerport, NY) pitched in relief for Vaughn College. In four innings, Dunn gave up five hits, one earned run and recorded three strike-outs. Offensively, he finished his final game in a Warrior uniform with one hit, one walk and one stolen base.
