Women's Tennis Picks up huge victory over  defending Champion Berkeley Knights

The Vaughn College women's tennis team defeated the Berkeley College Knights 6-3 on Thursday, October 13. The Knights were last seasons Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) champions. 

The Warriors entered the match coming off a 9-0 defeat to the Pratt Institute Cannoneers in their last outing. Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) led the way for the Warriors against the Knights,  defeating her number two singles opponent 10-1. Grace Davis (Belfast, Me) defeated her number four singles opponent 10-7 in a tight match.

Rivers teamed up with Emily German (Baldwin, NY) to pick up a huge win in their number one doubles match. The Warriors secured four singles victories and two doubles victories against the Knights. 

The win improves the Warriors 1-2 in the HVIAC and 1-3 overall. The Warriors will host non conference opponent SUNY Delhi on Saturday, October 15. The two teams will play at the United States Tennis Association Center (USTA) at 12 p.m.
