CORONA, N.Y. - The Vaughn College Lady Warriors have had a great start to the 2022-23 season. They are currently 3-0 heading into the month of December. The Lady Warriors have been led by their outstanding backcourt, Eliyah Howard (Texarkana, TX) and Tehilyah Murray (Rochester, NY).
Howard scored a career-high 33 points and dished out 5 assists against Webb Institute. In the following game against New School, Howard recorded a 21 point 11 rebound double-double. Her incredible performances helped earn Howard Player of the Week honors for the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) in week #1.
Murray was named Rookie of the Week by the HVIAC in week#1 for her stellar performances. She averaged 22 points per game and shot 57% shooting from the field in a two-game span. After a 25 point game against Webb Institute, Murray recorded a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double in a tight win over New School.
