The Vaughn College women's basketball team suited up to face the Bunker Hill Community College Bulldogs on Sunday, November 10. This was the second game of a back-to-back. Once again the Warriors had a slow start to the game and found themselves fighting back from a large deficit after the first quarter. They would cut the lead to eight points heading into the break. A poor third quarter hurt the Warriors attempt to get back in the game. They would eventually fall to the Bulldogs by a final score of 61-43.
For the second game in a row the women's basketball team were led by Edwina Wright (New Orleans, NY) and Joleen Gomez (Bridgeport, CT). Wright tallied a team-high 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Gomez added seven points, five rebounds, one assist and one block.
The women's basketball team will be for a few days to regroup and get healthy. They will return to action on Friday, November 15 when they host Bryant & Stratton (Syracuse) at Elmcor Recreation Center in Queens, NY.
