Lady Warriors Struggles Continue

The Vaughn College women's basketball team played their first Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) contest against The College of New Rochelle Blue Angels on Thursday, January 19. The Lady Warriors played poorly in the first half but competed valiantly in the second half. Unfortunately for the Lady Warriors, there second half comeback effort was not enough as they dropped their first HVIAC contest to the Blue Angels by a final score of 65-40.

Vaughn College was led by their talented freshmen backcourt Kayla Bryant (Bronx, NY) and Nicole White (St. Pauls, NC). Bryant  scored a team high 14 points on 5-11 shooting from the field and had three thefts. White finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) added six points and pulled down a team high seven rebounds and registered four steals. 

The Lady Warriors will face HVIAC opponent The Kings's College (NY) on Saturday, January 21. The game will be played at Baruch College at 3 p.m.
