QUEENS, N.Y. - The Vaughn College women's basketball team hosted the College of New Rochelle Blue Angles on Tuesday, January 26. Lady Warriors' center Ciara Boggs (Croton on Hudson, NY) posted her first double-double of the season. Boggs finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Blue Angels held a 4 point lead at the half. That lead would expand in the third quarter as the Lady Warriors were out-rebounded. Sophomore Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) tried to keep the Lady Warriors within striking distance of the lead. Rivers connected on five tripples, finishing with 21 points in the contest. Unfortunately turnovers and missed lay-up opportunities hurt the Lady Warriors' comeback efforts. The Blue Angels would go on to defeat the Lady Warriors handedly. 

Lacyrose Dickinson (Newmarket, NH) put together an impressive stat line for the Lady Warriors. Dickinson grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out a season high eight assists, and scored two points against the Blue Angels. Courtney Scott (Wellington, FL) chipped in 12 points and four rebounds. 

The loss drops the Lady Warriors' Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) record to 1-3 and 1-9 overall. The women's basketball team will host Pratt Institute on Thursday, January 28, at Elmcor Recreation Center.
