NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Vaughn College women's basketball team faced Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) on Sunday, December 13. The Lady Warriors entered the contest, coming off of a tough loss against Pratt Institute in their previous game, looking to get back in the win column. Vaughn College battled back from an early deficit to come within three points of the lead at the end of the first quarter. Foul trouble and rebounding would hurt the Lady Warriors throughout the game.  SMCC dominated the glass outrebounding the Lady Warriors 50-34. The women's basketball team  would go on to lose to SMCC, dropping their third game in a row. 

Sophomore Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) led the way for the Lady Warriors. She finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and six steals. This was River's third game scoring double digits this season. 

The Lady Warriors will return to action on Saturday, December 19, against Mid-Atlantic Christian University. This will be the Lady Warriors last contest of the first semester.
