Cianna Peterson Named to USCAA Division II All-American Second Team

Cianna Peterson (Detroit, MI) has had a remarkable 2014-15 season for the Warriors women's basketball team. She was the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II points per game leader, averaging just over 25 points per contest. Peterson scored double figures in every game this season. In a win against USCAA affiliate Davis College, she set new school records for most points scored in a single game, 48, and most three pointers made in a single game, nine. Despite facing countless double teams from opponents, Peterson finished the year with four 30 plus scoring games, and five double-doubles. Her play on the court helped elevate the Warriors women's basketball program, who won a single game last year, to having a 7-9 overall record this season.  Peterson's long list of athletic accolades and personal milestones earned her a USCAA Division II All-American Second Team selection.

The Vaughn College Athletics Department would like to congratulate Cianna Peterson for being the first Vaughn College Warriors athlete to be named a USCAA All-American. Peterson exhibited her passion for the game and her desire for winning every time she stepped on the basketball court. Her ability to take over a game single-handedly, either by scoring or getting her teammates involved, was a huge part of the Warriors success this season. Her willingness to improve her weaknesses, both mentally and physically, will help expand her game heading into her senior year.
