Peterson and Rivers Post Double-Doubles against the Lions

QUEENS, N.Y. – The women's basketball team defeated Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent, the Kings College, in their second annual Pink Nation game on Wednesday, February 4. Cianna Peterson (Detroit, MI) had a near triple-double. She had a game high 26 points, 15 rebounds, and dished out seven assists. Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) poured in 22 points and set the school record in steals, recording 11 takeaways in the game. Alexus Butler (Coram, NY) added 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

The Warriors had full control of the game from the start. They would go up by as many as 25 points in the second half. However, the Lions would battle back to bring the led within 15 points. The Warriors were able to force 35 turnovers and convert 14 fast-break points to secure a 63-50 victory over Lions.

The women's basketball team travels to Central Penn on Wednesday, February 11, for their final regular season game. They will look to finish out the season with a 500 hundred record.
