Melissa Jastillana Makes HVWAC All-Conference Team

Vaughn College would like to recognize one of its female student-athletes for her accolades on the court.  The Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) selected Sophomore guard Mellisa Jastillana, to be a part of the 2013 All-Conference Team.  She averaged six points, seven rebounds, one steal and added one assist per game for the season.  In addition, she also set a new record by recording the first double-double in Vaughn's programs's history.  Makin this feat look easy, she was able to accomplish this milestone four times this year.  Jastillana made a name for herself her at Vaughn by recording some of the greatest statistics the women's basketball program has seen.  Coach Ricky McCollum commented on her ability stating, "She's a great team player, has a great work ethic, and is always looking to make improvements on here game."

Going forward the Warriors will continue to help Jastillana grow, both on the court and in the classroom. Next season we are excited about the endless possibilties, and improvement of not only Jastillana, but the entire women's basketball program.
