QUEENS, N.Y. - On Sunday, April 30, eight members of the Vaughn College community participated in the JFK 5k Runway Race. Every year John F. Kennedy Airport opens one of their terminal runways to allow runners/joggers/walkers the opportunity to complete a 3.1 mile race. This year there were over 1500 participants. Jihad Ceaser was the first person from Vaughn College to complete the race with a blazing time of 23:51. Michael Breunig was the first student to complete the race with a time of 38:18. Women Are Warriors were represented well by Jewel Fletcher. Fletcher and Shelly Wong both finished the race under 60 minutes. The Athletics department would like to thank everyone that participated in the JFK 5k Runway Race. We look forward to having more members of the Vaughn College community join next year.
