Warriors and Oaks Meet at Randall's Island

Manhattan, N.Y. -- On Sunday, October 10, the Warriors hosted the SUNY ESF Oaks from Syracuse, NY, at Randall's Island. The Oaks came into the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference (HVIAC) contest with a 1-1 record in conference play. For the Warriors, this was their second game of a two-game weekend. Vaughn suffered a huge loss to the Five Towns College (FTC) Sound the day before.

The Warriors got out to a better start against the Oaks than they did against the FTC Sound. Despite being down a couple of goals early in the first half, the men's soccer team played with confidence. The momentum shifted completely towards the Oaks after the Warriors conceded a third goal with less than 10 minutes left in the first half.

The Oaks took control of the tiempo and pace of the game in the second half. Once again the Warriors were outmanned and were plagued with unfortunate injuries throughout the match.

Captain Albert Forero (New Rochelle, NY) scored the lone goal for the the Warriors. Forero's first goal of the season came off of a free kick. The Warriors wrapped up a difficult weekend against the top two opponents in the HVIAC with an 0-2 record.
