On Friday, October 12, the Warriors hosted The New School at Randall's Island on field 10. This was senior night for Warriors' forward Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) and two-year starting goalkeeper Hussein Saleh (Maspeth, NY).
Moshchenko has been a high-profile goal scorer in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) since his freshmen year. Saleh has been a serviceable goalkeeper during his career with the Warriors. He entered the game with five wins and two shutouts.
The Warriors got out to a rough start conceding two goals in the first 30 minutes of the first half. They would tie the game at 2-2 with goals from Jaime Pavon (East Elmhurst, NY) and Adolf Yeboah (Bronx, NY). The first half ended with both teams tied at 3-3. The Warriors came out in the second half extremely aggressive scoring the go ahead goal in the 52nd minute. They would go on to win their second game in a row by a final score of 7-3.
Moshchenko ended the game with his third hat-trick of the season. Saleh picked up his sixth win of his career.
The victory improves the Warriors record to 3-3. They will travel to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) on Sunday, October 14, to play the CIA Steels.
