The Warriors men's soccer team suffered another tough loss in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) on Sunday, September 30. The Warriors entered the game coming off a 5-1 win over non-conference opponent Cooper Union in their previous match. Unfortunately for the Warriors The King's College Lions started off the game with a lot of passion and energy. The Warriors fell behind early in the game and was unable to recover. Despite mounting a comeback, the Warriors would fall to the Lions by a final score of 6-3.
Midfielder Azzeddine Sekkat (Astoria, NY) had another solid game for the Warriors. Sekkat had two shots on goal, assisted on two goals and scored one goal off of a penalty kick. Ali Saleh (Maspeth, NY) and Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) were the beneficiaries of Sekkat's assists.
The loss drops the Warriors record to 0-3 in the HVIAC and 1-3 overall. The Warriors will look to regroup and turn their season around when they face Pratt Institute on Sunday, October 7.
