Heron Receives Rookie of the Year and All-Conference Honors

Vaughn College Warriors freshman standout guard Marcus Heron (Yonkers, NY) finished off a spectacular rookie campaign receiving Rookie of the Year and All-Conference honors from the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). Heron led the Warriors in points per game (ppg) 19.7  and assists per game (apg) 4.2. He was the top three-point shooter in the HVIAC and finished second in the conference in scoring, 23.4, behind the Player of the Year.

Heron's offensive production was consistent all season. He scored in double-digits in every game but two for the Warriors. He ended the year with 10 games scoring 20+ points including three games in which he scored over 30 points. His best game of the season was a 36-point seven rebound  performance against conference opponent Culinary Institute. Heron becomes the first player in the Warriors men's basketball program to win Rookie of the Year and All-Conference honors in the same season.
