Warriors Down Webb In Season Opener

The Vaughn College Warriors men's basketball team defeated the Webb Insitute Webbies on Wednesday, November 14, at Elmcor Recreation Center. The Warriors put on a great performance in front of their home crowd for their first victory of the season.

Three players scored in double figures in the Warriors 21 point triumph over the Webbies. Sophomore guard Kemarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) had a team high 21 points on 9-14 shooting from the field. Michael Reed (Freeport, LI) shot 50% from the three-point line in the contest. Reed stuffed the boxscore with 15 points, seven rebounds and dished out three assists in his college debut. Freshman Rashekem Ausar (Seattle, WA) added 14 points and three steals.

The win helps the Warriors remain perfect in season opener games since head coach, Ricky McCollum took over the program in 2012-13. The Warriors will host Touro College in their next outting. The game is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, November 27, at 7 p.m.
