The Vaughn College Warriors women's basketball team qualified for the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) post-season playoffs for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. The Warriors were lead by the leadership and experience of sophomore forward, Alexa Cruz (Pompton Lakes, NJ). Cruz is a two-year captain of the women's basketball team. Her ability to protect the paint and rebound the basketball helped the Warriors remain competitive throughout the season.
Cruz registered two double-doubles and had seven games with 10 or more rebounds. Her best game of the season came against conference opponent Word of Life Bible. Cruz scored 10 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in a 57-46 triumph.
At the conclusion of the HVIAC post-season playoffs Cruz was named to the 2019-20 All-HVIAC Women's Basketball team.
