The Vaughn College Warriors women's basketball team had a pair of freshman score in double-figures in a tough non-conference loss to CUNY Kingsbourough Community College (KCC) on Tuesday, December 3. Ewdina Wright (New Orleans, LA) recorded 16 points, four assists, two steals and two blocks against the Wave from KCC. Joleen Gomez (Bridgeport, CT) added 11 points, including three triples, for the Warriors. 

At the end of the first quarter the Warriors had a one-point advantage. Foul trouble and depth would hurt the Warriors in second quarter. The Wave capitalized onsloppy play from the Warriors and turned a one-point deficit into a 15-point advantage at halftime. The Warriors competed well in the second half but were unable to climb back into the game. They would go on to fall to the Wave in the first regular season match-up between both programs.
