The Vaughn College Warriors women's basketball team played there second game of the new year against St. Joseph's College (VT). This was the second meeting between the two teams in program history. In 2014-15 the Warriors lost a close game, 71-65, to the Fighting Saints.
The Warriors got out to a slow start and fell behind the Fighting Saints by a large margin in the first half. Despite small offensive runs in the second half by the Warriors, the Fighting Saints proved to be too much for the young and inexperienced Vaughn College team. The Warriors would eventually suffer a huge loss to the Fighting Saints dropping their head-to-head match-up record to 0-2.
Marceisha Howard (Fort Worth, TX) scored double-figures in the loss. Howard finished with a team-high 14 points. This is the second game in a row that Howard has scored 10+ points. Xylene Decoteau (Queens, NY) added six points.
On Friday, January 18, the Warriors will host Five Towns College at 6 p.m. at Elmcor Recreation Center.
