Lady Warriors Senior Night

Lady Warriors Senior Night

On Wednesday, February 7, the Lady Warriors battled The Kings College in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) match-up. It was senior night for the Lady Warriors. Before the game senior captain and four year varsity member Maia Rivers (Dix Hills, NY) was honored for her commitment and dedication to the classroom and to the Vaughn College women's basketball program. Senior forward Emily German (Baldwin, NY) was also honored for her two years of participation on the women's basketball team.

The Lady Warriors started off the game strong in front of their energetic and passionate home crowd. Unfortunately the Lady Warriors were not able to sustain their high level of play throughout the entire game. The women's basketball team would fall the Lions from The King's College dropping their record in the HVIAC to 0-4.

For the second game in a row, the Lady Warriors were led by Marceisha Howard (Fort Worth, TX). Howard recorded her first career double-double. She finished with a game-high 18 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Rivers stuffed the stat sheet with six points, six rebounds, six steals, two blocks and one assist. Jazmin Garcia (Yonkers, NY)  added four points, two assists, two steals, and one block.

The Lady Warriors will travel to play the Panthers from Albany Pharmacy College of Health Sciences on Saturday, February 10.
