Women Dress Five For Middlesex CC Game

Women Dress Five For Middlesex CC Game

The Vaughn College women's basketball traveled to New Jersey to take on the Middlesex County College Lady Colts on Tuesday, December 5. The Lady Warriors had a two-game win streak entering into the contest. Unfortunately for the Lady Warriors, they were only able to dress five players for the non-conference match-up due to injuries.

The Lady Warriors competed hard but could not handle the full roster of the Lady Colts team. Despite having five players and no substitutes, the Lady Warriors team was able to have some success scoring in the paint and drawing fouls on the Lady Colts to reach the free throw line.

Emily Betances (Queens, NY) led the way for Vaughn College. Betances was 9-12 from the charity stripe and finished the game with a team-high 21 points.  Nicole White (St. Pauls, NC) added nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The loss snaps the Lady Warriors two-game win streak and drops their overall record to 2-2. They women's basketball team will play their final game of the first semester on Thursday, December 7, at home. They will host the Central Penn Knights at Elmcor Recreation Center.
