Two Warriors Receive All-Conference Recognition

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released their 2017 All-HVIAC Men's and Women's All Conference Teams on Tuesday, October 31. Two members of the Warriors men's and women's cross country teams received All-HVIAC recognition.

Junior Christopher Hoza (Dalzell, SC) had a great season for the men's cross country team. This was the first year Hoza competed on any sports teams for Vaughn College. Hoza finished 110th out of 227 runners at Queensborough CC Invitational with a time of 34:28.9. He finished 81st out of 187 runners at St. Joseph's Invitational with a time of 33:04.5. His best results of the season was at the York Invitational where he finished 36th out of 127 runners with a time of 34:09.0.

Freshman Emily Betances (Queens, NY) was the only female runner to compete and complete the 5k run in the HVIAC championships for the women's team. Betances is a dual sport athlete at Vaughn College. She also plays for the women's basketball team.
