Swierczewski Wins Coach of the Year

Joseph Swierczewski was hired to take over the men's and women's tennis program at Vaughn College in the fall of 2015. For the past four years coach Swierczewski has focused on developing the talent of the Warriors' tennis program and has done so successfully. Each of coach Swierczewski's teams have made the playoffs every season underneath his reign. In 2015 former two-sport athlete standout Ahmed Aly won the first ever flight championship for Vaughn College in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) playoffs. Aly went on to become one of the best tennis and soccer players in program history. In 2018 coach Swierczewski accomplishments were recognized by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) as he was named the 2018 HVIAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. He is the first tennis coach at Vaughn College to win this prestigious award. Coach Swierczewski will continue to build on his success for years to come.

Raphael Cordina (Nice, FR) who lead the Warriors with wins this year (7) won all-conference team player. Ousmane Thioune (Dakar,SN) also walked away with the All-Academic team award. Coach Swierczewski rounded out the awards with Conference Coach of the Year. This is the first time a coach at Vaughn College won this award. Coach Swierczewski also has the only Flight Championship win in Vaugh history back in 2014, which was won by Ahmed Aly. The Warriors look to build on this momentum during the off season and come back stronger next season.
