Warriors Pick Up Conference Win Over Blue Angels

The Warriors' men's tennis team hosted the College of New Rochelle (CNR) Blue Angles on Thursday, April 12. This was the second Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) contest of the season.

The Warriors got off to a great start winning both doubles matches, (8-1, 8-0), by overpowering their opponents. They continued their dominant performance winning four out of their five singles matches over the Blue Angels. The Warriors would go on to defeat the Blue Angels by a final score of 8-1.

The men's tennis team were led by veterans Michael Panico (Ronkonkoma, NY), Tobi Oladeji (Lagos, NGR) and Raphael Cordina (Nice, FR). Panico, Oladeji and Cordina eached picked up wins against their singles and doubles opponents. Cordina has played well for the Warriors all year. He leads the team in overall match wins, totalling six thus far.

The win brings the Warriors' record back to .500 on the year, 2-2. They will be the visiting team on Saturday, April 21, when they face the Cannoneers from Pratt Isntitute. The HVIAC match will be played at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Center.
