The men's soccer team played their second game of the season against Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent Pratt Institute on Thursday, September 21. The Warriors defense was exceptional throughout the entire match. They held the Cannoneers to two shots on goal the entire game, both attempts coming in the second half.
Junior forward Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) missed the Warriors' season opener due to injury. The Warriors' lead goal scorer saw the back of the net twice in his first action of the season. Moshhchenko broke away from two defenders and squeezed a ball passed the goalkeeper for his first goal. Moshchenko scored on free kick for his second goal of the game leading the Warriors to a 2-1 triumph over the Cannoneers
Freshman goalkeeper John Vizhnay (Jackson Heights, NY) picked up his second win in his young career. He will be tested on Saturday when the Warriors travel to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) to take on the Panthers on Saturday, September 23.
