Mclean Selected to Second Straight All-HVIAC Men's Basketball Team

Sophomore captain guard Kemarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) has been the back bone of the Warriors men's basketball team for the past two seasons. Mclean was forced into a leadership role after seeing several of his teammates leave the program in the second semester of his rookie season. Mclean finished last season averaging 17.1 points per game (ppg) overall and 17.8ppg in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) contests. He was selected to the 2017-18 All HVIAC Men's Basketball Team for his consistent play throughout the season. Mclean became the fourth freshman in the men's program history to be selected to an all-conference team.

Mclean entered his sophomore season with a lot of responsibility to lead a young inexperienced team. He was able to up his scoring average from last season despite teams being able to key their defenses on him. The crafty guard from Brooklyn, NY averaged 23ppg and shot over 80% from the freethrow line. He scored in double-digits in every contest he played in. He eclipsed 20 or more points nine times. He scored 30 or more points in two contests. His best performance was a 36 point outburst to give the Warriors a 75-74 win over non-conference opponent Touro College.

On Sunday, February 17, Mclean was selected to the 2018-19 All HVIAC Men's Basketball Team. He joins a prestigious list of basketball players in the men's program to be selected to an all-conference team in both their freshman and sophmore seasons.
