Men Take on Berkeley College (NY) Knights

The Vaughn College Warriors men's basketball team returned to the court on Wednesday, January 23, to take on the Berkeley College (NY) Knights. The two teams faced-off at Elmcor Recreation Center in Queens, NY. The Knights have dominated the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) for the past four seasons. The Warriors last defeated the Knights in the 2014 HVIAC post season semi-finals.

The Warriors entered the game against the Knights down several players and extremely short-handed. Sophomore captain Kemarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) kept the Warriors afloat in the first half but did not get enough help from his teammates to allow the Warriors to remain competitive throughout the entire game. Mclean finished with a team high 17 points paired with two assists and one steal. Newcomer Tzu Ching Chen (Flushing, NY) added seven points and five rebounds. Unfortunately the Warriors were outmatched and overwhelmed by the four-time HVIAC defending champions. The men's basketball team would go on to suffer a huge loss to the Knights.

The defeat drops the Warriors record to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the HVIAC. The next opponent for men's basketball team will be the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels.
