Reed's Career-Night Helps Warriors Pick Up Conference Win

The Warriors improved their overall record to 4-2 and picked up their first Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) win after defeating the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) Steels on Saturday, December 15. Once again the Warriors found themselves in a one point game at halftime. Unlike their previous contest against ASA College (Manhattan), the Warriors were able to make enough plays on both sides of the ball late in the second half to secure a 80-73 victory.

Freshman guard Rashekem Ausar (Seattle, WA) had a great bounce back game in the trimph over the Steels. Ausar scored a game-high 25 points and recorded six assists and a career-high six steals. Kemarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) poured in 24 points and registered 5 rebounds and two blocks.

Freshman forward Michael Reed (Freeport, NY) had his best game of his rookie campaign. Reed recorded his second double-double of the season in the seven point win over the Steels. He tallied career-highs in points and rebounds, finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

The Warriors will be back in action after the winter break on Sunday, January 13. They will face HVIAC opponent SUNY ESF.
