Warriors' Freshmen Earn All-Conference Honors

The Vaughn College Warriors' men's basketball team ended their season in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) semifinals against the three-time defending champions, Berkeley College (NY). The 2018 HVIAC All-Conference Men's Basketball Team was announced at the conclusion of the HVIAC championship game. Despite an up-and-down season, the Warriors had a pair of freshmen selected to the 2018 HVIAC All-Conference Men's Basketball Team. 

Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) has had a solid rookie season for the Warriors. Mclean's ability to shoot the ball has helped him have a lot of success in his first year of college basketball. His best games of the season were a 29 point performance against Florida National University, a 30 point game against New England Baptist College and a career-high 32 point outburst against conference opponent Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Mclean's performances did not go unnoticed by the HVIAC. He has earned Rookie of the Week honors by the and was a candidate for Rookie of the Year.

James Morel (Woodhaven, NY) had a slow start to his freshman season. However Morel became a reliable player for the Warriors as the season progressed. He ended the year with seven double-digit scoring games and recorded one double-double during his rookie campaign. Morel's best offensive game of the season was a 20 point performance against non-conference opponent Penn State Worthington Scranton.
