Men Face Number One Seed in HVIAC Semifinals

The Warriors men's basketball team secured a top four seed in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) playoffs. On Saturday, February 17, the men's basketball team squared off against the number one seed and the regular season champions, Berkeley College (NY), in the HVIAC semifinals. The Warriors played the playoff game without key players in their line-up hurting their chances for any success against the highly favored Bekerley Knights. The Warriors also started three freshmen in the semifinal game and only had one reserve available.

The men's basketball team competed for the entire game but was outmatched by the Knights. It was a great experience for the youthful Warriors to get a chance to play in the HVIAC semifinals. Kevin Catalino (Bronx, NY) led the Warriors in points and rebounds in the loss. He finished with nine points and seven rebounds. James Morel (Woodhaven, NY) added eights points, four rebounds and three steals. Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in seven points.

The Warriors end their season with a record of .500, 10-10. They will look to learn from their loss in the HVIAC semifinals and build their team for the following season.
