Warriors End Regular Season Against Berkeley College (NY)

The Vaughn College Warriors faced the number one seed in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) on Wednesday, February 14. The Berkeley College (NY) Knights hosted the Warriors at the Hill Center in Brooklyn, NY. The Warriors and Knights have had great battles over the past few seasons. The Vaughn College men's basketball team entered the HVIAC conference match-up with a 5-2 record, while the Knights had a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.

The Warriors were led by freshman guard Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY). Mclean finished the game with a team-high 18 points, four rebounds, 3 steals and one assist. James Morel (Woodhaven, NY) added 10 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. Kirby Santos (Bronx, NY) and Joshua Colome (Bronx, NY) chipped in seven points respectively.

It was a difficult task for the unexperienced Warriors to handle. The Knights got out to an early lead. At halftime the Warriors faced a huge deficit. Despite the disparity in the score the Warriors had a strong finish to a difficult game.

The loss to the Knights drops the Warriors' record in the HVIAC to 5-3, dropping them into the number four seed in the HVIAC post-season tournament. They will face the number one seed Berkeley College Knights in the HVIAC semi-finals on Saturday, February 17, at the College of New Rochelle.
