Warriors Lose Nail-Biter in Overtime

The Vaughn College men's basketball team fell to New England Baptist College in overtime on Thursday, February 1, by a final score of 80-78. It was an exciting back-and-forth game with many lead changes. This was the first game that the Warriors have played this season that went into overtime. The Warriors have struggled all year with their non-conference schedule. The loss drops their non-conference record to 3-6 and overall record to 8-7.

Joshua Colome (Bronx, NY) had a career night for the Warriors despite the loss. Colome finished with a career-high 34 points including going 10-19 from the three-point line. Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) recorded his first career double-double. Mclean ended the game with 22 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Kirby Santos (Bronx, NY)  scored nine points and grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds. Kevin Catalino (Bronx, NY) chipped in nine points and had seven rebounds. 

The Warriors will look to get back in the win column when they take on Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent The Kings College on Wednesday, February 7, at Elmcor Recreation Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.
