Warriors Drop First Conference Game

Warriors Drop First Conference Game

The Vaughn College Warriors hosted the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels on Tuesday, January 23, at Elmcor Recreation Center. The Warriors entered the game with a perfect 4-0 record in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). The men found themselves playing from behind the entire game but competed extremely well. Turnovers late in the game hurt the Warriors comeback attempt in front of their home crowd. The Warriors would lose their first game in the HVIAC to the Blue Angels by a final score of 86-75.

Bryan Green (Bronx, NY) led the way for the Warriors in the loss. Green recorded another double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Joshua Colome (Bronx, NY) finished with 14 points and two rebounds. Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in 10 points and two rebounds. James Morel (Woodhaven, NY) added nine points and four rebounds.

The loss drops the Warriors record to 4-1 in the HVIAC and 8-6 overall. The men will be back in action when they host non-conference opponent New England Baptist on Thursday, February 1.
