Men Come up short against Five Towns College

The Vaughn College men's basketball team lost their first game of the season on Tuesday, November 21, in front of their home fans at Elmcor Recreation Center. The Warriors were defeated by the Five Towns College Sound by a final score of 102-91.

Vaughn erased a nine point first half lead and had a 10 point advantage over the Sound with just under six minutes to go in the second half. The youth and inexperience hurt the Warriors down the stretch as the Sound took advantaged of the fast-paced high tempo game. The Sound took regained the lead with two minutes left in the game and was able to hold off a resilient Warriors team.

Freshman guard Kermarlie Mclean (Brooklyn, NY) scored a career high 25 points on 10-17 shooting from the field. Bryan Green (Bronx, NY) continued his streak of recording a double-double. Green finished the game with 23 points and 17 rebounds. He has recorded a double-double in all of the Warriors games this season. Maleec Taylor (Roosevelt, NY) added 18 points, six rebounds and had a career high nine assists.

The Warriors will look to regroup and get back in the win column when they face non-conference opponent Bard College on Wednesday, November 29, at Bard College.
