Warriors Bounce Back Against the Oaks

The Vaughn College men's basketball team defeated the SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Oaks on Saturday, January 28. The last game the Warriors suited up, they had their eight game win streak snapped by Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Berkeley College (NY) The victory over the Oaks improves the Warriors record to 4-1 in the HVIAC and 10-4 overall. 

Vaughn College senior captain Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) scored a team high 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists and recorded two thefts in the game. Dillon Dieng (Bronx, NY) had a solid game for the Warriors. Dieng had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Lamink Barr (Bronx, NY) added 13 points and eight rebounds. Ian Parker (Yonkers, NY) chipped in 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. 

The men's basketball team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 31. They will face non-conference opponent, The New School at Elmcor Recreation Center. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
