Warriors Keep Winning Streak Alive Against PSU Brandywine

The Vaughn College men's basketball team defeated United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) division II opponent Penn State University (PSU) Brandywine  on Monday, January 9. This was the six win in a row for the Warriors.

For the second consecutive game the Warriors' defense was overwhelming for the opposition. They held PSU Brandywine to 22.2 percent shooting from the field and 0-10 from behind the three-point line in the first half. The Warriors expanded their 23 point halftime lead enroute to a dominant 90-64 win over PSU Brandywine.

Four Warriors scored double figures in the contest. Kevin Vanderpool (Yonkers, NY) led the way for Vaughn College. Vanderpool put up and impressive statline with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Lamink Barr (Yonkers, NY) recorded his fifth double-double of the season. He finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dwayne Conley (Laurelton, NY) scored 17 points and pulled down five rebounds. Mike Gegovic (Yonkers, NY) added 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

The win improves the Warriors' record to 7-3 on the season. The men's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, January 19. They will face Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent, The College of New Rochelle.
