Barr and Dieng Post Double-Doubles in Warriors' win at PSU Worthington Scranton

The Vaughn College men's basketball team won their third game in a row on Tuesday, December 20, against United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) division II opponent Penn State Worthington Scranton (PSU Worthington Scranton). In the Warriors three game win streak, they have got out to a decent lead and have been able to maintain their intensity on both the offensive and defensive end to close out games. 

For the first time this season the men's basketball team had seven players score double-figures in the same contest. Senior captain Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) scored a game high 21 points on 8-16 shooting from the field. Carlos Montes (Yonkers, NY) registered 13 points on 6-9 shooting. Ian Parker (Yonkers, NY) poured in 12 points off the bench on 6-8 shooting from the field. Kevin Vanderpool (Yonkers, NY)had a poor shooting night but stuffed the stat sheet. He finished the game with 11 points, seven rebounds and a season high eight assists. 

The Warriors' bigs were very productive against PSU Worthington Scranton. Lamink Barr (Yonkers, NY) and Dillon Dieng (Bronx, NY) both posted double-doubles for the Warriors. Barr finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Dieng added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Donald Tompson (Yonkers, NY) chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. 

The win improves the Warriors' record to 5-3 on the season. The men's basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday, January 4, against NCAA division III opponent Bryn Athyn College.
