Warriors Start Season Off with a Win

On Saturday, November 12, the men's basketball team opened their season up with a 88-41 victory over non conference opponent New School. The Warriors got out to an early first half lead and never looked back. This is the fifth year in a row that the Warriors have won their season opener. 

The Warriors had four players score in double figures. Kevin Vanderpool (Yonkers, NY) led the way for the men's basketball team. Vanderpool finished with a game high 18 points and seven steals. Lamink Barr (Yonkers, NY) recorded his first double double in a Vaughn Warriors uniform. Barr registered 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Donald Tompson (Yonkers, NY) added 16 points and seven rounds. Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) chipped in 12 points and dished out a game high six assists. 

The men's basketball team will return to the court on Friday, November 18 for Homecoming. The Warriors will face USCAA division II opponent Penn State University Lehigh Valley at 8 p.m.
