Men Open Up the New Year against Penn State Brandywine

MEDIA, P.A. - The Vaughn College men's basketball team improved their record to 8-1 after defeating Penn State Brandywine on Sunday, January 10. The Warriors held  a nine point lead at halftime. Penn State Brandywine would battle back in the second half to take the lead. Poised play by the Warriors' captains, Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) and Moises Chaucer (Bronx, NY), would be the difference down the stretch en route to the Warriors sixth win in a row.

For the second time this season, the Warriors had two or more players record double-doubles in a game. Pena led all scores with 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Chaucer poured in 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jalomar Ryan (Queens, NY) added 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The men's basketball team will face Davis College in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) contest on Wednesday, January 13. This will be the Warriors first home game of the new year.
