Warriors Secure Season Opener in Overtime

QUEENS, N.Y. - The Vaughn College men's basketball team kicked off their season with a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) matchup against the Lions of King's College on Thursday, November 12. The Warriors had a chance to win the game in regulation but needed an overtime period to secure a 77-75 victory over the Lions. 

Junior sharp shooter Michael Pena (Dumont, NJ) led all scorers with 34 points, draining four long balls in the game. He stuffed the stat sheet with four rebounds, four steals, and dished out three assists. Jalomar Ryan (Queens, NY) was the Warriors most efficient player against King's College. Ryan finished the game with 17 points on eight for 10 shooting, and also grabbed 9 boards. Moises Chaucer (Bronx, NY)  added seven points and pulled down a game high 13 rebounds. 

The men's basketball team will look to remain perfect in the win column when they host New England Baptist College on Tuesday, November 17.
