Sergio Mejia has been a solid performer for the Warriors this season. The freshman guard led the Warriors in points per game and rebounds per contest. Mejia gave the Warriors a legit scoring threat from the point guard and shooting guard position. His play on the court gained recognition when he won Rookie of the Week honors by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). Mejia led all rookies in scoring in the HVIAC, averaging just over 17 points per game. He becomes the first player in the Warriors men's basketball program to win the conference Rookie of the Year award.
