Taylor and Johnson Record First Career Double-Doubles in Warriors Win

QUEENS, N.Y. – The men's basketball team played their last regular season home game against the New School Narwhals on Monday, February 9. The Warriors entered the contest with an 11-11 record overall and an 8-2 record at home.

For the third straight game, the Warriors were led by sophomore guard Willis Prezzy (Ridgewood, NY). Prezzy had a game high 20 points, and grabbed six rebounds. Maleec Taylor (Rockville Centre, NY) and Dashawn Johnson (Queens, NY) posted their first career double-doubles. Both players finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Warriors also received a major contribution from Robert Williams (Bakersfield, CA).The junior guard stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

The Warriors jumped on top of New School early in the first half. At the break they owned a 30 point lead. In the second half, the Warriors cranked up their defensive pressure forcing the Narwhals to have many empty offensive possessions. For the third game in a row, the Warriors shot over 50 percent from the field with many shots coming from close range. The 99-55 victory over the New School Narwhals puts the Warriors over the 500 mark, at 12-11, for the first time since early December.

The Vaughn College men's basketball team will travel to Pennsylvania to face the number three ranked division II team in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), Central Penn College. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, at 8 p.m.
